Cheapest way to use up old panes of glass
We demolished the shed today, ready for the new one to be delivered later in the week.
So, as well as lots of wood I have to get rid of, we have 4 panes of what appears to be toughened glass.
Has anyone any ideas how I can use it as I don't really want to throw it away.
Cheers.

Depends on the size of them, but could you use them to make a cold frame?
Similar idea, but some lottie holders seem to have raised beds, and then use a discarded window to cover seedlings from the weather, pigeons etc0 -
Offer them on freecycle for somone else to use?0

I got some plastic cloche clips, which hold 2 panes of glass in an inverted V.
You then close the end by putting a pane of glass or a board at each end and secure by canes pushed in soil.
Worth doing if you want to start growing something a bit sooner next year."We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

Can you advise me where to buy these please or a link to show what I am looking for.

Well its a bit extreme but it's certainly cheap - I strip all the fabric off bed divan bases until i just have a frame and then put perspex-type sheets in them to make mini greenhouses - they are tougher than any mini timber greenhouse you could buy - half a double is better size than a single
Greenhouse glass is thinner than normal glass so if these sheets are toughened they should be over and above what you'd really need but perhaps safer = toughened glass usually has a kitemark or similar in the corner unless you have had it toughend yourselfYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
No probs, THESE are the ones. Can you advise me where to buy these please or a link to show what I am looking for.

Looking on a couple of forums, apparently you can find them in the pound shops, although they tend to clear the gardening stuff to make way for the Halloween and Christmas rubbish decorations.
Ahem, not like I ever frequent such places you understand.
