Speeding fine on a test drive?

Please help, I am trying to sell my car and allowed a potential buyer to test drive it. They took it on a road with working speed cameras. I advised them of the cameras. He asked if it was 40, i said "no, it is 30" yet he sped up and drove at nearly 40mph. I told him again it was only 30 and so did his offspring he didn't slow much. I don't remember seeing a flash but i was just wondering where i stand on this? At present the car is still in my name (no-one has bought it yet). If a fine comes through, am I liable or do they have to prove it was me driving? I only have a mobile contact number for this person.

If you got snapped you will recieve a NIP in the post, you will then be given the opportunity to name the driver, if the driver wasnt you - it is then your responsibility to name the driver
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful

If you can't name the driver you can explain the circumstances and provide their mobile number on the NiP. You must have a first name though?

In future don't let anyone test drive your car until you have a photocopy of their licence and appropriate insurance.
