try going on amazon and read the reviews, this will start you off

Can highly recommend the blackberry PlayBook for 109, no android tablet for under 150 comes close for quality or slickless. Runs a different OS but possible to run some(60%) of Android applications on it and more are appearing Each week. Typing on mine now, 64gb is 139. Was a 10% off voucher last week on o2. Screen is superb too0

I would stick to an android tablet. See what wendy lou on amazon has.
You want 1GB ram and pref a dual core. Also usb and sd card slot.
Got a playbook but very disappointed at the lack of software/sd card slot/usb storage.
This is as good as the cheapies get -

The ainols are okay for the price and Wendy lou. is a decent seller, I looked at them before plumping for the PlayBook. However you need to put a custom rom to get the best from it and some quality issues with the screens put me off a bit. How techie/old is your grandson? If it needs to work 100% out the box then I'd still recommend the PlayBook.
Surely you knew about lack of storage / sd before you bought it? Streams mkvs fine over network so only up to 64gb space shouldn't be a problem imo, apple seem to cope ok.0 -

+2 ? I think this is the sweet spot for what the op is looking for. Have used the seller too, they are very good. Android ROM onboard will be fine, for what you want you don't need the mess about with it.0
