Scottish Widows pension didn't go into Santander account in September

Has anyone else had this problem? We are at stalemate at the moment. My husband has a pension from Scottish Widows which has always gone in on the 24th of the month. Last month (September) it didn't go in. On calling Scottish Widows, he was told to call Santander, who said it could be that Scottish Widows haven't updated the new sort code from when Alliance and Leicester was taken over. Scottish Widows were duly called and they said they'd paid it into the new sort code account. Called Santander and they said that Scottish Widows would have to do a trace and Scottish Widows are saying it's up to Santander to sort out as the problem is their end!!!!:mad::mad:.
According to Scottish Widows a number of Santander customers have had a problem this month. So I'd like to know what anyone else is doing about it. My husband's just gone into the local Santander but I don't think that's going to do anything. Help!!! Where do we go from here? Any advice greatly appreciated.

It's usual for the sending party to initiate a search. Make a formal written complaint about Scottish Widows' handling of the problem. If nothing else it will galvanise them into sorting out the problem. It will also be easier than dealing with Santander.0

Thanks for your reply. Well he had a result from going in to a branch. The lady he saw found out that the payment had been returned but hadn't got back to Scottish Widows. She spoke to Scottish Widows who said the payment should be in the account within 24 hours. Apparently it was a glitch with Santander but the people we spoke to on the phone at Santander should have been able to sort it out.0

If only I had a pound for every time a Santander employee didn't know their job!
Tell you what - - you'd be a hell of a lot poorer than me, if I had got a pound for every time a Santander employee knew exactly what their job was.
Just give your anti-Santander campaign a rest - - they aren't any worse than any other bank, on balance. None of them are perfect, none of them are a total disaster (although RBS/Natwest have recently been trying hard).0 -

They seem to be having a lot of glitches lately. For the last 3 months they have failed to pay my mortgage DD  . You would think paying a DD correctly is a fairly basic banking transaction, wouldn't you?
Have tried for the 3rd time to set up a new DD to correct whatever the issue is (having deleted all the other DDs which apparently weren't really there) and will now be moving the account. The staff I have spoken to keep telling me complete rubbish and trying to pass the buck to the Mortgage company.

I'm as entitled as anyone to have my opinion, which is based upon experience, thank you very much. In fact there have been several occasions on here when I have defended them. Have I criticised your experience with Natwest/RBS, which is totally different to mine?0 -

Well given that with a DD. The payment is requested by the mortgage company. You can understand why.
Santander don't send the money, the company take it. So unless they get the request. They are not aware of the payment.
Is this another case where sort code has been changed due to bank merger?Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
