Hotmail Blocked

Hi

My sister's hotmail account was hacked into a month ago.

They have blocked it.

We tried to answer their questionnaire so they could verify her as best as we could, but they replied our answers weren't good enough.

They wanted her recent emails sent, but she cannot remember her friends email addresses, neither the subject.

They also asked for her last 5 digits of her credit card she uses to pay her Xbox - but she doesn't pay for that.

We have tried a number for support - 0844 800 2400, but they say we cannot answer your call.

We are at a loss what to do.

Any suggestions?

Tks

Can she not ask for the 5 digits from the person who does?

But I am trying to find out if there is any other way of my sister getting back into her hotmail account apart from this questionnaire.

To be honest, I hope there isn't. Otherwise it would be a route that people could take if they wanted to maliciously take over someone else's hotmail account.

Take this as the perfect chance to move to a decent email provider! :)

The problem seems to be that the OP's sister is unable to answer the security questions correctly.

Surely this has happened to lots of people.

    How did they get unblocked?

They answer the security questions from Microsoft.

Or they set up those "what was your first pets name" questions.
They wanted her recent emails sent, but she cannot remember her friends email addresses, neither the subject.
Does your sister have any other way of communicating with her friend? Facebook maybe? She could ask those details and provide them to Microsoft.

Look at it this way. she doesn't know the password. She doesn't know details of the recent emails sent, and she doesn't know the payments details of the associated xbox account. How is she going to prove she is actually the owner of the hotmail account?

Whats wrong with it? I have had hotmail for years and find it easy to use and have had no problems with it. Not being a fanboy, but just wondering what sparked your comment?
