Hi,
I recently bought a PC with a DVDRW+/-. I tried to play a normal dvd and it was unable to play in micosoft media player.
It threw up a window suggesting I obtain a decoder of some sort, either software or hardware, and it suggested a number of different websites.
Has anyone ever experienced this???
It is really bugging me

YEP this is normal, you need to get a dvd decoder of some sort to play dvd's examples are win dvd/power dvd ...the list goes on...0

i have video lan and it works fine...but i also have the decoder and havent tried it without.0 -
You could try a search for free dvd player in google!

I had same problem, ended up downloading decoder from
https://www.intervideo.com
cost just over 10 pounds, I'm not at all computer literate but it was really quick and easy, DVD player working great now.
