Car Insurance (QUESTION) LEGAL COVER

Can someone please answer my question regarding legal cover. I have 3 car insured in my name with the same insurance company and wonder why I am having to pay legal cover each time as the legal cover is for the individual and not the car. Can anyone explain if ever I did need it I would only have to buy it for one of my cars.
Any help would be great as the insurance comapny make loads out of us all and legal cover is another way of pulling in more money when you may not need it just like the banks did with PPI.
Thanks if you can explain
Tristan

Because it is for the car not the individual
If you feel you dont need it then dont buy it, it is not a compulsory aspect and in fact only really is useful in very small claims with no injury or where it is certain that liability is split0 -
Thanks for that as I thought is was the individual. For the sake of £30 I think maybe it is best to pay lol I just thought maybe we were being ripped off.
Many thanks

You are basically, the insurer gets paid by the solicitor and gets paid by you so its win win for them.
Realistically however at present there are few alternative options, there used to be free covers available but they excluded the 2 cases where LE is actually useful (as above)0 -
I am aware of an alternative, but forum rules prevent me from posting the company name0

if you are or ever have been a civil servant or worked for any company which was ever nationalised (eg: BT) or runs government contracts (eg: Capita) CSMA membership costs just £15 and gives motor legal cover to both you plus spouse.
PM me your email address and I'll refer you, if you want.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0 -
Just Google Free Motor Legal and that should give you some options0

Paying for EACH vehicle makes no sense - fine if you only have one, but I have a policy that costs me £12pa for anything I drive, and is much better value as a result.0
