NHS Dental Charges

I broke a piece off my tooth on 7th Sept and was charged £17.50. On the 19th Sept I broke another tooth and was charged £17.50. On the 28th Sept I had further problems with the tooth that had been repaired on the 19th Sept and I was not charged. Now the Dentist wants to cap the tooth and wants to charge me a further £209.
I understood that if you pay the Band 3 charge of £209 and all treatment is within 2 months that should be the only charge I pay. Surely the £35 that was paid previously should be deducted - am I right?

No. The £17.50 were for emergency treatment which is band four. You can have unlimited numbers of these and they are not taken off cost of further treatment.
Moreover even if you had been charged a band two filling fee (forty odd pounds in England) , finished treatment and then needed further treatment in a different band you have to pay all of the cost of the different band according to NHS business services.0
