Moving to a graduate account

Has anyone opened a graduate account and still kept their overdraft from their student account?
I am paying off my student account but it moves to a current account in November and so would like to move to a graduate account elsewhere. I would still have about £1800 left of the OD to pay off when moving so know that there aren't any graduate accounts available with an OD that high (Im just entering my second year post graduating).
So what Im hoping is I can move over £1000 or £1500 to an interest free OD and keep the bare minimum in the student account in the hopes that I can pay it off within a month of it chaning to a current account to get the least amount of charges, and then concentrate on paying off the interest free OD. Does that sound like the best way forward?
Thank you!
