Leaking toilet

The toilet seems to be leaking, it's like when the toilet has been flushed and the bowl refills it seems to be constantly refilling at a very slow rate.

Any ideas as to what it is and how easy it is to fix?

Check the ball !!!! valve ..modern toilets do not have an overflow to outside but run into the pan instead.

modern toilets don't all have ball bvalves either. In our last house we had a new cistern with a modern filler that was susceptible to bits of rusty pipework making the seals not close properly so would constantly fill. Had to take them apartto wash the seals down to make a clean seal

Take your glasses off and look inside toilet pan carefully. You might see the trickle line of water leaking from your cistern. There might be hard water deposits around your cistern seal area. If you are up to it, dismantle, scrappe off with scourer, re-fit system. Should have stopped leaking.

We have had this problem for months and depending who you ask they will give you different answers (talking about plumbers) I can't get mine to be fixed so we screw the valve thing on and off every time we need to flush. Luckily we use the downstairs toilet most the time and that one is ok.

The best of luck to you and let us know how you get on xxx
