Hey, i wake up not being able to breathe quite frequently. Sort of like youve caught your breath in your sleep?

There is an actual condition where this happens (dont think you have it, just thought you might like to know that!!).

I would get checked out just in case, just to put your mind at ease. But i really do think it is just to do with having a chest infection - its all related.

    Take care!

    Hi all

    Back from hosp

They told me that i have another bug that is doing the rounds where it is caused with coffing - mainly caught when you have chest infection, and cold sweats are caused by the flu.

they said that its doubtful im alergic to the meds as i had them for about 6 days before it started.

also need to get my BP down and stress levels down too.

she told me when i coff, the windpipe closes behind itself, to stop the "badness" getting back down, and when i try to breath, i self conchiously panic and it causes the situation to get worse where i cant breathe for about 30 seconds.

Similer to a panic attack but more caused with the infections.

just gotta keep ma eye on things now

Curious George - She said she doubts there is a chance i am alergic. She said it is about a 2% chance and does not think it is - as for thinking your gona die, i didnt think about that as much, just tried to get air in asap. Did once think "oh sh*t" though

jobbingmusician - Not changed it for years and years due to alergys. Stuck with Bold because its the best one for me due to past asthma, oithers have some perfumy things in them

Oldernotwiser - She said that it is similer but is caused by virual infection. Be 21 next month and dont smoke atall :)

Bendybops19 - When i wake up, i cant get any air in what so ever, usually after coffing. She said it is prob caused by the virus :)

im glad for you, being allergic to the most commonly doled out medicine is a real pain in the bum,
no doubt she is right that its not allergic, especially if you had been taking the meds for 6 days before your "episode"
mine had been prescribed that day.

    hope your feeling better now.

Stil was not feeling good on Tuesday, so went to GP on an emergency appointment.

Doctor finally told me what was wrong. He said that i had a chest infection, bronchitice, stress AND asthma had started again and said the breathing prob could also be part of my anxiaty. He said that the hospital should have done tests there, and he was mighty p*ssed off with the dr who saw me there.

Have Sobutimal (Ventolin) and Becotide inhailers now to take.

Chest infection has gone, bronchitice is going (still have a sore coff and feel a bit winded everytime i coff) but have to just monitor the situation, and if my breath goes, then to take my sobutimal asap (which works good)

Recon in the next few days, ill be 100% :D

  • Hey SP sorry you have been so poorly. You look after yoursef and get back to the last doc if you feel dodgy again.
ALL the best people in the world have asthma. DON'T forget to take the Becotide until the doc says so. It is a preventative medicine and so many people stop taking it when feeling better only to get poorly again and need the reliever (salbutamol). As in all cases though just follow the dosage you have been given.
    Take it easy and
    POST SOME PHOTOS!!(not of your illness!!!! )

I used to get the coughing asthma attacks where you just can't breathe, your chest just feels really tight, and you can't get any air in. the longer it went on, the more scared i got, and the more i panic, the worse it got!! horrible when you had them at 4am, adn you don't wanna wake people up at such an unsociable hour!!! i had to take brown inhaler morning and night, and blue one when needed!!

Thankfully after 5 years I seem to have grown out of it and rarely have an asthma attack now!! Hope you're feeling better soon!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Hey CG :p

Had to go back today (again) but this time he gave me prednisolone Sodium Phosphate tablets. He said it will help and quicken the time it takes for the becotide to work (usually 2 - 3 weeks from start) but thsi way should take a couple of days.

I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chesthalf the time, winded.

He said that i will be on the inhailers indefinatly. I had them when i was a child, came off them when things were good (age bout 13) but now back on em (20). He also said, if things have not improved by monday, to go back, and he will send me to hospital to get a chest x-ray (by that time, wil be just under 3 weeks since start of it all)

and i could post some beautiful pics of things.... oh, you said notof my illness LOL!

I will be posting some images soon, need to take some tho lol
