Hi all
After having success myself with HSBC my Mum mentioned she had found out in the last year that she had PPI added to her overdraft with Barclays called 'overdraft protection and more recently changed to 'ppii.
Now im looking at whether i can get this back but not sure how to go about it.. i find it odd she has it and she has no idea why... in 1995 she was declared unft for work due to crumbling of the spine and has been on DLA ever since and is now 65 and retired obviously... so isnt PPI meant to protect against earnings... whuihc barclays know she doesnt have as she updated her records to say she wasnt working... any advice grately appreciated thank you.

Use the same procedure you did for your own claim - change the wording on the form from loan PPI to overdraft PPI.0

mine was different though, mine was because they told me I had to have it else they wouldnt accept it (which some have said was weak but something must have worked... guessing the front loaded aspect) ..however, had some news since i posted this...
My mum phoned to cancel it and i asked her to ask them what it actually protected her from.. its apparently from income and sickness..they added it (their words!) in 1998.. so Mum explained that she wouldnt be covered as she was already declared unfit for work and was on DLA..the Barclays lady was horrified and has started the claim and said that its a mis-sell and that it should never have gone on..apparently all she has to do is sign it when it comes in the post and its back dated until 1998 and cost about £3 a month so im keeping fingers crossed its straight forward...Competition Wins 2017: Humans Boxset : £25 Cheque, Lego Batman Goodies0
