Parking tickets and debt collectors

Hi I park in a station car park everyday and it is manned by NCP.

I have on 4 occasions forgetton my weekly parking has run out ( foolish I know!) but it has resulted in 4 parking fines against me from July- Sept.

Letters came through from NCP but they did not seem enforceable so I ignored them. One ticket however they tried to issue to my Dad who is not the keeper of the car but a named insured driver.
He understandably went mad at them on the phone as it is nothing to do with him. NCP apologised and took his name off thier database and so far (2months) in he has not been hassled.

I have now received a nasty looking pink letter from ICC solutions demanding £115 for one fine. I have two days to do something before they take legal proceedings.

I need to know if this is just fluff' or if they're really going to send bayliffs, or take me to court. I.m very stressed and scared by all of this. :(

Advise is appreciated!

Thanks.

They are just hollow threats, it won't go anywhere near court. For bailiffs to become involved the case has to go to court, you lose and THEN you fail to pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days.

Perhaps you are confusing debt collectors with bailiffs. The former are just private citizens with no special powers and they certainly won't visit your house.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

    Thanks,

The letter says if I don't pay it will lead to

    1) a judgement being awarded against me which will effect my credit status
    2) a warrant of execution for enforcement by the county court bailiff

Will this mark my credit file?

    No.

For either of those two things to happen, they need to take you to court (unlikely, they know they'd lose), win (isn't going to happen), and then you don't pay up within 28 days.

THEN the two things above might happen. You'd know about court action though, they'd have to issue a claim which could then defend, and well, you'd know if that was happening.

Incidentally your father might want to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office querying how NCP obtained his details.

The pink letter is already shown on the third from top thread 'PPC letter chains'. You should just be playing snap with these by now!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Perhaps it costs less to print than a red one and the PPC already suspects they may have come up against someone who knows it's a scam?
