self serving, self important MPs strike again. The day that they and their gang culture will be exiled cant come soon enough."enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

Yet another example of a Labour MP seeing some money and feeling an uncontrollable urge to spend it. It makes for a nice headline and the Labour loyalists fall for it each time.
What some people need to consider is that, if this is his genuine position and not just a blatant political stunt, it shows that he'd rather cut stamp duty than use the money to:
> Do anything about cuts to police pensions
> Do anything to help any of the public sector workers on pay cuts
> Do anything to help pensioners
> Do anything to help our armed forces
All of those groups have gotten temporary support from Labour before they take the goodwill generated, move on and do nothing to help them while trying to look like defenders of yet another interest group.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. This angers me so much. All this will do is keep house prices artificiallyhigh. I'd rather it go to NHS, reduce uni. fees, schools etc, help small buisnesses create jobs etc.0 -
We don't need more houses, who can get a mortgage these days? We need to cut immigration especially from Eastern Europe, all immigrants must have health insurance before entering and have prove they to have enough to live on, they will not be allowed social housing but have to rent privately or buy and no entitlement to benefits unless they have worked here continuously for 5 years.
We need to bring back manufacturing and to renationalise all utilities and transport. We should make the big companies that trade here, (whether they are based here or abroad) pay full tax if they want to operate here, if they don't then fair enough, it will give small businesses a chance, if we have jobs, we have growth any simpleton knows that.
As in the case of Iceland, banks should be held accountable for their debts not the public and they should start paying back what they owe to the people of this country, with the same monetary sanctions on them as they have on us.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Come on, you're just being sensible now. Stop it!0 -
I'm trying to work out whom I despise the most, Balls or Cooper.0

He's proposing another Stamp Duty holiday.
We benefitted SO much from the last one....0 -
People need jobs and want to be in the South east adding to price inflation and pressure on infrastructure.
We need a New Town Policy and start paving over the Midlands and North ( deal with it Northern-ists) with no planning consultation and tax pressure and breaks to get business to move there.
That means the money will go a lot further!Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold"; if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn0 -
Didn't you hear the BBC Breakfast relocation to Salford (Manchester, if you never heard of Salford) means they can only get second rate celebrities to appear? The A-list can't be bothered to schlep up there.
Now that Virgin has lost their rail franchise, the north is going to plunge back to the Dark Ages.
Sian Williams wouldn't go, smart AND cute. :T0 -

Aww we don't want southerners moving up here and ruining it all.
Quarry Hill flats in Leeds were demolished and replaced with an enormous Benefits building which resulted in an influx of refugees from "darn sarf" and as Pincher says BBC Breakfast was moved to Manchester.
We don't mind doing our bit, but there has to be a limit . . :rotfl:0
