Understairs storage

Just got new to us house, house is a child of the 70,s. You walk in to hallway, on the left is plank sided stairs that lead to heaven , hallway straight thru to kitchen and a door to the front room, or palour if your posh.
We plan on some storage under the stairs, and we think if we get a thick curtain and just hang it under the stairs this will hide all our junk. Curtain would have to be custom made, dunno yet how we attach it to the stairs.
Anyone done this? We can,t be the first to think of this.

Do you really want a curtain hanging from the under stairs? It will look less than attractive as people enter your hall.
Why not consider fitting units that can go under the stairs with draws or cupboard aa this would look much neater, or it could be boarded off with a door as most under the stairs spaces are.

What a completely naff idea. Do the job properly and build or get built a proper cupboard tailored to the space.

Get understair storage.

Either leave it open or have a door fitted.

Curtains would look more naff than an avocado bathroom suite:eek:
