Can any one help.Afraid I only have 'snail band', but always manage to get connection at or about 45-46 kbps. Until the last few days I have been able to download pages, mainly from 'multimap' train enquiries' and loads of stuff like that, at a reasonable speed. Now it is taking forever, (if I dont get a 'timed' out message). I have run AVG and that says I havent caught anything,history and cache cleaned out, but something is obviously wrong. Any one got any ideas. I've done a system restore, but don't really want to wipe and reload everything.
Any help would be very much appreciated, but not in too technical lingo.

Don't know what sites you're talking about but I'm having trouble with this site at the moment and I'm on 2.2Meg broadband. But other sites are ok.0

Same here. MSE forum only. Page loading stops with only about 75% of the images on the page downloaded.

Been having a few slow moments myself today, but on other sites. On a 2 meg connection myself, so there's a possibility of high site traffic?I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the [highlight]Board Drunk[/highlight] for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

Make sure that your Windows Update is not on automatic. You may be downloading loads of updates :eek:

Yes, the MSE forum does seem v sluggish.
Also found similar issues with other sites, maybe some new virus doing the rounds....0 -
It seems to be ok again. The front index page was ok but others would time out after about 3 minutes or so; I'm amazed I got that post above in.0
