I am fine and dandy
DS says he won't be coming home at Christmas  ...but when he finds everyone else is going home I'll bet he'll be back. In fact if he doesn't come back I will eat my christmas tree
'quick TD sorting out' and 'short week in court' vibes as required. And any other vibes to anybody else in need/want xx
ETA We saw Michael MacIntyre a couple of years ago in Brighton, he was superb, kids loved it too. His autobiography is one of the funniest I've read, I thoroughly recommend a read*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr0 -

DS says he won't be home at Christmas? Yeah right! I've yet to meet anyone who didn't want desperately to go home for Christmas.... we spent the first year of marriage in student accommodation (DH was doing post-grad) and we went home for Christmas - to both families - because the chemistry dept effectively shut for 10 days!
There aren't many students who can go the whole term without going home once - the first month is fab - a non-stop party... but there comes a time when you just crave a bit of the familiar ( and not doing the cooking for a bit!)
Goodintentions - it will not surprise you that the plans for the houses at Germany Beck are NOT on stilts.....
As well as being at a notorious site for flooding these houses are to be built on the site of the Battle of Fulford - which was just days before the Battle of Stamford Bridge.....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Morning
Tots decluttered to nursery.
I am on a call with work, but not really listening

 Morning all!
The weekend conference we went went to was excellent in all sorts of ways, and all my hard work last week was worthwhile. I am shattered but happy! DH also enjoyed the weekend and talked to some new people, which is good.
Here is a picture of the Georgian house which I built last week - the last major building project for a little while, as I shall be concentrating on other things instead. Flat-pack, and I'm very proud of it! It's about 30 cm wide.
This morning we had a bit of a lie-in, and now I'm about to start last-minute preparations for the course I'm running this afternoon, as well as writing birthday cards for the month and catching u on emails and finances. DH has time off this week so we are planning all-day visits to various relatives including DGDs and I shall not have time for anything but the most basic flying. The house is quite tidy anyway (apart from the study, where I've got all my conference materials spread out across the floor, but I'll sort them in 5 minutes) and I'm hoping to achieve most levels today between other jobs.
4 eB@y sales this weekend so I shall go to the Post Office while I'm out later.
(((Hugs))) to bonnie_bumpkins and anyone else who needs them today.
My 5 minutes starts now before I make :coffee:0 -
My DD1 will not be home for Christmas this year as she is going to her BF's in Nottingham. She will come home a few days after Christmas for New Years. As I said, I think she has left home (she shares her flat with the BF)
Bubba is asleep, and Miss T is chilling. DH is off today, so he is going to take the dog out (in the rain :T) and get some sausages for tea. I will carry on with my meal plan now
Bonnie we have the auto biography, although I haven't read itIf I get time to read, it is normally Nursery World Magazine or a text book! DS really enjoyed it though. MM is a good comedian for kids to see (not too young though!) as he doesn't swear excessively and is not too rude

I've had a good hunt in all the usual storage places but I can't find the outgrown clothes for the NCT sale. Very frustrating. In the process I have removed all summer attire from the shared bedroom of DS3 and DD2.
2 blue bags for school have been filled. I am now in a black sack. Excellent decluttering day.
DS2 has a non pupil day. He is glued to the TV - I'm going to ask him to run the duster round.0 -
I've just got the Xmas pressies out and had a sort through, DDs stocking is more or less done (just chocs/fruit to go, maybe something little and silly if I spot anything), females in ex's family are more or less done, and I have a few other odd bits for other people. Not as far along as I was this time last year so I think I'll have to pull my finger out. I wanted to be done except for any food stuff by December and I'm fast loosing days between work, physio and I'm not exactly flying as fast as I used to
Going to get it all entered in my spreadsheet, and on the app I've just downloaded (highly recommended over on one of the xmas threads) then I need to get my ideas written down somewhere to take with meCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
