Wet paws & laminate floors

Options
Does anyone have a proven way/quick routine of keeping floors clean when dog's paws are wet? I do dry his paws after walks, but it's when he has been in the garden, that's posing the biggest problem.

I seem to be constantly drying the floors, however, I'm really just drying the dirt lol.

Really need to be cleaning the floor at least once a day, however, I don't really want to wet the floor to often.

  • I buy puppy pads from pets at home and put them by the back door, they are very absorbent and stop most of the wet and dirt.

Try dirt trapper cotton rugs. The online shop Splendid Pets sells them cheap (cheaper than most places), sorry can't post a link as I'm on my phone. I have one near the back door so the dogs' feet dry off before they reach the rest of the house.

We use a paw plunger. The paws are still damp afterwards, but they are clean.
  • Thanks folks.

Do these mats go outside or inside?

Inside :) they're pretty absorbant, I have a 6' x 4' one and walking over it just the once pretty much completely dries their paws off. The rugs are machine washable or can be blasted outside with a pressure washer, but I've found letting them dry and hoovering them to be sufficient so far. Got a runner one too that I cut to fit the hallway (very easy to cut down to size)
  • Thanks krlyr.

I'll check out the dirt trapper. Hopefully I will buy one that's a good size for where I need it.
