Various comparison sites corroborated that a move from EON to First Utility would favour me £130 pa. However when I tried doing this on the First Utility web site it informed me I could not take gas from them as I am seemingly being served by an IGT.
This is the first I've heard of it and not had problems switching before. Do some companies not have such supplier links? None of the comparison sites picked this up when displaying my results.

First Utility do accept customers supplied via an IGT.
This is what they say on their website:Do First Utility supply customers on IGT networks?
We offer supply to any domestic customer connected to the mains gas network. However, gas connections owned by IGTs sometimes attract additional charges. For this reason we are currently not able to offer our online deals (smart or iSave tariffs) to domestic customers on IGT networks. If your previous supplier served you via an IGT network then you can find that the price you paid them for gas was slightly higher than their standard published price. If your home is on an IGT network we would be happy to offer you an alternative tariff.Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Well, I never knew! Just noticed the IGT charge on my EON bills. Kicks myself now. I view my bills online (as per the discount I get for doing so) but just downloaded a "paper" bill. The MPRN is is only printed on the paper bill, not the online bill. Must remember that as a warning.
So, the comparison sites don't consider the IGT when making recommendations?0 -

Details of which suppliers that charge here.

I suggest you search about FU on this board before you commit...their customer service record isn't the best.
Some stings in the tail over rates increasing so if you haven't noticed an IGT charge, you could come unstuck with these contracted changes unless you monitor your bills more often.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

Sorry you've struggled to see the IGT charge tgon.
If you log into your online account and click on 'Billing & Payments', you're given the option of 'Bill Breakdown.' If you select this and then open 'total gas charges,' the IGT charge is shown there.
You can also see it when selecting 'view paper bill.' It's usually on page 2.
Hope this helps tgon.

Well, I'm glad I came here first!
I cant do anything about the IGT so it will always be an overhead no matter where I trade. The differential drops significantly on the comparison sites after FU and if the customer experience is sadly lacking then I'm best where I am for the moment.0 -

It will be a bit of a mess about, but most companies have at least one tariff that don't charge for the IGT.
I know that E.On has two. Maybe search each independant site and find the best deal that way.0
