in Credit cards
Today I decided to check my Equifax credit report. I already have the Experian Report and the Noddle free report, however before a credit application I thought getting the Equifax one might be beneficial.
I go onto the website and it states view your statutory report online instantly for £2. I provide all the information it asks for put my credit card details in to pay and press the button.......... It then comes up and says the service is unavailable at the moment, please call 0844 335 0550 @ 5p per minute.
So I ring up and end up on hold for 10 mins then get transfered to a foreign call centre. Explain what has happened, she asks for a reference number. There isn't one I said (the screen being in front of me), so she asks for my email address. then she she says I have to go through security proceedings, so I answer everything she asks, (providing everything down to colour of underwear and frequency of changing).
Then she says I have to send in verification documents by scanning them into my computer and uploading them to their website (nothing like presuming I can do this), then in 48 hours they will inform me if I have passed their security checks and if so they will email me allowing me access to my report. Whilst all this was going on I went onto my CC account to see they had charged my card the £2 fee (available balance of card was £2 less than it should be.)
I said this was absolutely terrible service and asked why their website says you can get instant access, if you can't. She can't answer that other than to give pat answers off a crib sheet. She said it was for security so they know I am who I say I am!!!!!
I told her I wanted the £2 putting back on my card and they could forget the whole thing, as I wanted to see my report now, not in 48 hours time. She then said if I upload the documents I can ring them back and ask them to deal with it quicker to get access sooner. So more time on the phone at 5p a minute!
Again I argued that they were not doing what they advertised and they were selling things under false pretences, as it says instant access. More pat answers off the crib sheet came back. I said no way was I going to do this and upload my CC bills to them and wanted the £2 refunding onto my card and they could forget the whole thing. She said it was only a pending charge and would not be taken if I didn't complete the application. I said it had better not be taken or I would take them to court to recover my money (I know only £2 but thats not the point).
Honest to god, I cannot believe the garbage you have to go through with this company to gain access to your report. This is the second time I have tried to get an Equifax report (last one about 2 years ago) and the second time I have had to go through all sorts of garbage to end up without it. Why can't they just do what they say they will do. You pay by card, provide all the info they ask for and they deliver an instant report.

Why don't you just sign up for the 30 day free trial and make some money off it too (TCB, Quidco) ?0

I tryed for the 30 day free but it told me after puting payment details in that I had a problem and to phone them. I did and thay wanted a photo coppy of driving licence or passport. I think not told them just to forget the hole thing and I just hope that thay dont take any money off me in 30 days time as i dont trust them now0
