Faulty Headpones (Amazon Marketplace)

I bought some Panasonic headphones In November 2011. The right ear no longer works. I have looked at the sellers returns policy but it doesn't mention faults. They were only £30. Should I just but a new pair?

There are 2 routes that you can take.
1. Warranty - (I'm assuming your pair of headphones came with a 12 month warranty). You'll have to contact the manufacturer if you are choosing this route.
2. Sale of Goods Act (SOGA). If you choose this route, you'll have to contact the retailer (amazon market place retailer) regarding this. Since it has been over 6 months, they might ask you to provide an independent engineer's report stating that the headphones were inherently faulty. The retailer may refund (could be partial as you have used those headphones for nearly 1 year), repair (unlikely as it's a pair of headphones) or replace.
Please remember that the warranty and SOGA will be void if you damaged the headphones in anyway. Are you sure it's not water damaged in anyway? A lot of people do wear them even if it's raining.0
