Hi
We are staying in Las Vegas on the 27th April for 4 nights, does anybody know of any major shows or events taking place over this period on the strip ?
Also where would be the best place to book a grand canyon trip, the internet or in Las Vegas ? and what grand canyon excursion is the best ?
TIA

Don,t know what specials are on then but if you are up for seeing shows
goto
https://www.tix4tonite.com
and
http://www.tickets2nite.com/
when you get there to see what you can see Half price when you get there. one will have shows the other does not so check out both if you can .
easily done as tickets2nite is near the Coke bottle place near MGM grand and a outlet of tix4tonite is just a short walk ( in Vegas terms) up strip at the Hawaiian market.
we saw AVENUE Q .... MAMMA MIA .... AMAZING JOHNATON and RITA RUDNA all for half price ,last year purchasing from these outlets. all very good shows as well !!!!
also check out the free What on and other free magazines for coupons to other shows. we saw a pretty good magic show by DIRK ARTHUR at the Tropicanna and RON LUCAS the Venqiulist at the Rio , for half price with this method last year.
The resident show i would most recommend that i have seen ( in Toronto , not Vegas) is BLUE MAN GROUP but you will be very lucky to get tickets for it at a discount
check out this thread as regards the Grand Canyon.

duelling piano bar is a good free night out other than buying your drinks0

Last time I went to Vegas I saw:
- Celine Dione - this was NOT my choice, but even I have to admit that she was good in concert. Although I feel embarrased to admit this, I would go to see her again.
- Cirque du Soleil - I saw the Egyptian themed show and was thoroughly disappointed. They had a a couple of good moments and a lot of mediocre stuff.
- Blue Man Group - this was brilliant - I cannot recommend it highly enough.
- Guggenheim Las Vegas (Venetian) - This was showing a selection of works, I think by Dutch artists at the time. The audio guide was very good value.

I've not seen them in Las Vegas, but I have been to see Blue Man Group in both Berlin and London, and the show was absolutely amazing! From the video clips I've seen on the internet, the Vegas production looks mind-blowing.0

if you go here:
http://www.vegas.com/shows/
You can put in your dates and see a list of shows on during your holiday...it will include one-off headliners (comedy, concerts, etc) as well as all the standard shows in Vegas.
Not knowing what sort of shows interest you it's difficult to make recommendations...some of our favorites are Cirque Du Soleil shows O, Mystere and Love (latter is great if you are a Beatles fan and Mystere is sometimes available at the Tix4Tonight booth for 20% off on the day of the show) and we laughed ourselves sick at Carrot Top (comedian again usually available at Tix4Tonight at 50% off face value)...and Penn & Teller (magic/comedy - coupon here: http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/rio/casino-entertainment/penn-and-teller-coupon.html) we also love Blue Man Group but saw it in London.
If you do decide to check out the Tix4Tonight booths print the VIP line pass here which will save you a lot of time waiting in line.

Another vote for Blue Man Group here. Excellent  :T
Thought Penn and Teller was pants
Howie Mandel was quite funny
Same old same old since 20080
