I would like to ask question on behalf of my friend regarding the benefits he can claim according to his circumstances.
He has 2 kids and MRS looking after kids and not working at the moment.
Dwp website calculator come up with the following result - could anyone please explain this.
Monthly income after tax is £1600 and the following result came up -
£113 per week - Child tax credit
£89.50 per week – Working tax credit
£33.5 per week- Child benefit
Is that gonna be the topup on his current salary he get ?
Please advice.
Cheers

Do they not already receive child benefit and tax credits?
you have made an error in the calculator -
The numbers you have quoted come out if you put in £1,600 as the gross annual income
With a take home of £1,600 his gross annual income should be £24,500 which will give no working tax credits and child tax credits of £61.05 per week
this will be on top of his salary0 -

Sorry my apology, he gets usually £1600 on average every month but figures goes up and down but his last P60 shown he was earned £18000 gross in that year.
Can you advice please what sort of benefits he would be able to get as help.
