Anyone got an external boiler?

The part that's directly underneath it is wrapped up in the silver insulating stuff. By the look of the bottom of the tray its been dripping for a while as its got rust patches on it. Although surely he would have noticed when he serviced it in August.
Do you think this is covered by Worcester guarantee? As its inside the boiler does that mean its their job? Don't want to pay a man if it is covered.0 -
it will only be covered if it is part of the boiler, if it is a pipe that was put in afterwards or a fitting that someone has fitted to connect upto the boiler then noI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
So how will we know that? Should I just ring Worcester first and see what they say? I suppose when they get here he'll tell me if its covered or not. Worst that can happen is that I then have to pay Worcester, just hope they're not too pricey.0

the prob with getting WB in is that if it's not part of the boiler ie a manifacturers prob you will get changed for the visit & they won't fix the leak & just tell you to get a plumber, they will only fix things that are part of the boiler, if you can see the leak/drip does that mean you have removed the front cover is it possible to see a pic of the leak & what the pipe is connected to & we may have more of an idea.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I've just looked through the manual and the pipe thats leaking is shown on pics of the internals. From what we can make out its where the DHW flow switch is thats dripping. I'll go take a pic too, to see if you can verify for us. Thanks.0

Its the pipe on the left, of the 2 coming out of the silver thing with lots of bumps on it (?heat exchanger). You can see reflection of water sitting on the silver which is sitting on it. There is quite a steady flow of drips coming out of it. Hopefully this does mean its a Worcester job?0 -
the silver thing is the plate heat exchanger, yes it is a WB issue, if the pressure isn't going down on the pressure gauge for the heating then it's on the domestic side, let us know after they have beenI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

WB man came this morning and said the washer where the flow switch joins had failed, so he put a new one in, doesn't appear to be leaking now, so just hoping that all the water dries out so we have no more condensation in the porch.
Southcoastrgi - is this normal for WB boilers? In the 3 years we've had ours, we've a few problems, the heat exchanger was changed as it furred up with scale, the switch which controls heating and hot water has been replaced too. We did have a water softener fitted earlier this year as WB said they wouldnt changed the heat exchanger again as its our fault and he recommended a softener. I always thought WB were a good make, but we're starting to feel we have a dud.0 -
thanks for the update, all sorted good newsI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
