Injury claim

Last October my wife was involved with in an accident{not her fault}which resulted in whiplash, back injury and bruising. She is still undergoing treatment and has a lot of pain. The solicitors acting on her behalf seem to be uninterested and are telling her that compensation of £1,400 is a reasonable offer.Dosen`t seem much of an offer to me,given that we don`t know how long my wife will suffer for.

Any advice.Could my wife appoint her own solicitor as I am not too convinced to believe that the current ones are working toward her best interests.

I'me very surprised that an offer has been made at this stage, as treatment is still undergoing. How can a final assessment of the damage and suffering be made if the injury is not yet finalised?
Normally offers etc. are made post treatment.

If it is a 'simple' case of wiplash, then the offer you have been made is not far off what I would expect.

Assuming your insurance company is paying the legal bill, contact them and see what they say. Usually though you have to use the firm they recommend (and usuallly have negoitiated a discount with).
