If I post a question & people take the time to respond in any way (unless to be nasty) I hit the thanks button.
Loads of people here have tried to offer you advice or support and you have thanked but a couple.
I find that rude, personally.
maybe the OP is too busy worrying about other things to worry about whether he should be thanking people or not?
AFAIK, thethanks button is not a compulsory part of MSE anyway, and this thread has a lot more useful information on it than checking how many times people have said thank you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What is going on with the abuse on here?
sky_rat made a mistake, I'm sure we all have at some point - I know I certainly have.
He has come here for some help, not to have fun pointed at him.Gone ... or have I?0 -
sky_rat,
Am really pleased that Expedia are finally listening, you must have finally found a human being!
I have had a quick search and, assuming that you can only use the £300 credit against Delta flights, you can fly from Manchester to Orlando for £456 each, or from Gatwick for £479 each.
You can fly from Birmingham with one stopover, but this would not be with Delta (Continental), and that would be £511 each.
There do tend to be flight sales closer to October, but it is obviously risky waiting, as prices can go up as well as down.
Let us know how you get on with Expedia, and we'll do what we can to help.
Oh, and please ignore the muppetts on here. They are few and far between, and you are very welcome here xGone ... or have I?0 -
wouldnt it be a great world if NO ONE made a mistakeIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0
-
Have a look at https://www.travelcitydirect.com - they are a charter company who fly from Manchester to Orlando (Sanford) on the days you are looking to travel and may be able to offer you a better flight only deal. OK, it doesn't take you into MCO, but is a step in the right direction!0

I am a regular traveller to Orlando and actually prefer Sanford. It is much smaller and quicker to get out of...now if Virgin flew there I'd be happy!0

If the OP wants everyone to say "Aww, isn't that awful, you should definitely get a full refund from the nasty, unfair Expedia even though it was 100% your own fault" then I think he's come to the wrong website.0 -
I would like to thank everyone who has posted on this topic.
Even the ones who write replies which are of no help what so ever.
I appreciate peoples time to read my messages yet alone post a reply.
I am just angry and frustrated with this whole affair.
I dont want sympathy, mickey take or slagging off.
I just want advice.
Yes I made a mistake and it is my fault and I admit that.
Eveyone makes mistakes, I dont care what anyone says, no one is perfect.
I actually saved the trip in expedia before going ahead and booking it.
Because I spent days going over the details and if we could afford it or not.
So its not as if I booked in a rush without paying any attention.
I dont know what the exact airport codes are, BHM or BHX.
I thought I typed in 'Birmingham' but then I dont remember seeing the screen asking to select which Birmingham, which is why I wonder if I may have typed in BHM.
Ive been looking on lots of websites on and off over the past few months, entering the various dates and airports.
I dont fly that regulary and when I do fly its normally the same holdiay to spain.
My point is, there is no reason why I should be charged for the flights this early on in the booking.
The fact that I found the problem within 12 hours of booking the holiday and the fact that there is still another 6 months for those seats to be booked by someone else means that charging me is completely unfair.
Fair enough if I had booked the flight for a few weeks time and didnt notice the problem until a few days before the flight, but in this circumstance there is no reason for charging me the full flight price.
Even if they just charged me £20 for admistration fees to correct the flights then I could appreciate that.
But not the full flight price of £300.
I know what the rules and regulations state, but my point is that these rules and regulations are often unfair.
And Im sure airlines make vast amounts of money from things like this.
This is backed up by BBC Watchdog's article on budget airlines who charge more than the price of a ticket to correct a spelling mistake.
One airline was even quoted as saying that to correct a spelling mistake is a 2 minute job, yet they were charging a huge amount of money to make the correction.
They have you over a barrel and the customer has no choice.
They know they can get away with it and make money on it, but this is wrong and they shouldnt be allowed to do so.
So its not just me, BBC Watchdog has highlighted the problem as well.0 -
I hope you get this sorted out, and to be honest I bet this happens alot! I read of one man who booked four tickets and accidently put his name on each ticket - all non refundable etc - what a nightmare.
I would hope Expedia would be sympathetic - however could you ask Visa for advice?
Good luck!0
