Flybe card - Experiences!

Ok, so after a long 6 years, my ccj has finally come off my credit files. I really want to get rid of my Vanquis card and Capital one and get a 0% BT card, so i have applied for the Flybe card. Didn't get an automatic decline, but not accepted either. Got the - Thank you for your application, we will now review your application and be in touch in 7-10 days!
Anyone had this and been accepted?
Equifax file is clear, no defaults, no late payments etc.

you will be fine if equifax is clear
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Thanks for your reply Chanz4.

Anyone applied for this card and got the same message? Was it accepted or declined?

I applied for the Flybe card around 6 months back and got the same message as well....the card popped in a week later with a £5000 credit limit.

Sammie - please will you let us know how you get on? I'm thinking of applying for this one myself - although according to moneysupermarket I've only got a 7/10 chance of being accepted, and 8/10 on some others - not sure if that's enough :o
  • Thanks Zen135.
Just a bit worried about being declined! I do have a satisfied default on Noddle and Exp, but it is over 5 years old. Doesn't show on Equifax though. Guessing that's why Nationwide soft search only came back at £1000 and 19.9%! (Didn't proceed with application cause i read on here it would be a decline)
Really want rid of Vanquis / Cap 1.

Vikkii - of course i will update this for you. Fx it goes through!
Not holding out much hope if Moneysupermarket is anything to go by! Said my best cards were - Cap 1, Aqua, Luma, Vanquis!!
They promote Noddle though so if the soft search was on there or Experian those reports still have a 5 year old satisfied default on which Equifax doesn't and it's Equifax that Sygma/creation use, so fx it will be ok.

Moneysupermarkets checker is as much use as a forum, it gueses, you dont think a credit card will say its lending card to an external company. People with defaults have got creations cards

  • Yeah i guess your right. Good to know you can get a creation card with a default, even better that my default isn't on Equifax! Guess i will have to wait and see what happens. Will actually feel like i'm finally getting somewhere if i am accepted :)
  • I think you may be ok with this... I've still got default frm 2006 (drops off in December) but earlier this year I was successful in opening a new first direct account and gold card and an M&S credit card. The credit checks were done with equifax and experian where the default is on record. I thought this would mean automatic no and it didn't.

From what I have read Sygma bank is less 'choosy' with who it gives credit to so I'd be surprised if you were rejected from what you have said.
    Sorted out my finances...

  • Thanks Scott, my default was in Aug 2007 so only just over 10 months left! Then there is nothing 'Bad' on any credit file. Kept my nose clean for the last 5 years, making sure everything has been paid on time.
