what on earth is going on?

Hi
Just checked my Halifax Mastercard (credit card).

It is showing that I have paid £1100 to them yesterday.
I DID NOT!!
I transferred this amount to my Virgin Credit Card which went through yesterday - thank goodness I have proof of this.
Theres nowhere I could even have paid this amount from - I thankfully closed all of my accounts with them over the past week before this balance even showed and I have got the cash and Im holding onto it!!
I will now go to great pains to close this credit card which has now been paid off in full.

Are you saying that you transferred a balance from the Halifax card to the Virgin card? If so then it would appear on the Halifax statement as a payment into the account.

If you are saying that you paid the amount into the Virgin account and have done nothing to the Halifax account then the first thing I would do is confirm that the payment had reached the Virgin account. (What is the proof you have that this payment has been made?)

Computer fault - maybe but more likely to be "person using the computer" fault.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
  • Do you mean you transfered your Balance on your Halifax card over to your Virgin card so that you now owe Virgin the money? If this is the case it would show as a payment on your Halifax card statement?!So this is correct.
