Finally Got A Second Interview

It's been a long time but I've finally secured a second interview. I'll be meeting with the Operations Director of the company.

When I went to the first interview with the office manager he
told me that he was impressed with me and I was in with a chance. He also said that the second interview was partly so a director could sign off on the appointment. I know I shouldn't get carried away with that and think it's already in the bag - I've been told by the agency that there's one other candidate via another agency.

It's never over until the fat HR lady sings. :D

That's as far as the agency is aware. There might be more than one competing candidate.

It's not usual for people to interview more than 2 at snd interview stage.

The agency may be the only agency with the job.

    Good luck OP

Since this company has its HR department I'm guessing it's quite large so it'll be normal to interview more than 2 candidates during second interview. For all we know there may be a third interview stage. OP hasn't confirmed the second interview is the make or break moment.

Well, when I asked about further stages at the first interview only a second interview was mentioned. As far as I'm aware there weren't that many candidates at the first interview stage.

If it's that large then why are they using an agency. HR must be doing nothing all day :)

Of course the OP has not mentioned an inteview with HR though.

It was a two parter. First with HR and then with the manager - who said he was pleased with me.

I cant really see that you are going to have to have a 3rd interview then as you will run out of people to see :rotfl:

Third interview can be more practical, testing your skills where as second interview is just seeing if he likes OP's personality.
