PayPal saying payment is 'Unclaimed'

Hello!

I recently bought 2 tickets to an event (5th October) on eBay, and paid the same night, along with several other items I had bought. They all went through ok, but the payment for the tickets didn't, saying that the status was unclaimed. The seller told me it was my fault, so I cancelled the payment and paid again, this time using a different bank account. The same thing has happened, and I believe that it is at the receiving end - they obviously need my payment to send out the tickets, but they need to be sent on Monday otherwise they won't arrive on time for the show!

Any help/advice?

Thanks,
Jacques x

  • It is almost certainly the sellers fault. They probably have changed an email address and have not updated it in Paypal.
The only thing you can do is message the seller and ask them to check which email address is linked to their account and tell them what email address you have been given from the invoice.
Failing that, and i don't know for sure it would work,is to ask them to send you a Paypal request for the money.
Lose is to not win......Loose is not tight......get it right!
  • Yes, as plumface says, it is almost certainly the seller who is at fault.

They can try to edit/relist their item and as they do, scroll down to see the entry they have made re paypal payments. It is usually somewhere in there that they have made a typo. In which case, the easiest thing is to ask them to add the 'typo' email to their paypal..
