  • Hello, I'm really sorry to hear all your troubles. This must be really frustrating for you.

I don't think you'll like this but it's the same case with all networks. These networks offer data packages that can only be used in the UK. Using data abroad is very expensive. Ofcom is looking into this so that we get better deal when we are abroad. Not sure about vodafone but some networks offer packages so that you can use data abroad.

Is there anyway you could settle the phone bill by using your friend's or relatives card details?

I understand you can't contact your husband because vodafone cut you off. Is there anyway you could use Skype to contact your husband in an emergency? You could load credit into Skype using a debit/credit card and then you can make calls to mobile phones or landlines.

I really wish I could be more helpful. I hope someone else will be more helpful.

You will have a credit limit with Vodafone, just like you would with a credit card. You can't spend over the credit limit without them disconnecting your account. They do this so you don't rack up thousands of pounds in charges and then don't pay your bill. Exactly the same as a credit card.

In the meantime is it possible for you to get a new sim or buy a really cheap phone (you can get some for about £10). Well in the UK you can, not sure how cheap they are elsewhere. You can load it up with some credit and have that as an emergency phone for when you go into labour, if it happens before your other phone is sorted.

In an emergency - which I assume going into labour without medical assistance present is - you can still use your phone to make emergency calls even iof it has been 'cut off'.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.
  • dellbell, there's a Vodafone authorised rep on MSE who may be able to help - they usually just ask people to email a specific address with a reference code in the subject so it gets through quicker.

Unfortunately, you can't send them a private message (PM) and you may have more luck finding them in the Mobile Phones board.

    Hi dellbell,

I can appreciate you are in a difficult position at the moment regarding payment of the bill.

In these circumstances, we may ask for part payment if you exceed your call limit or increase your usage dramatically as stated in section 8 of our Terms and Conditions here.

I will be happy to take a look into this and speak to our collections team on your behalf though.

If you have already sent in an email, could you let me know the email reference number so I can take a look.

    Many thanks,

    Hi

thank you for getting in contact Heidi. However this is still ongoing I paid this morning the full amount as yesterday I got an E-mail that my bill was ready.

When I got the text asking me to call Vodafone I asked the girl " When you get the money, how soon will I be reconnected ?" her reply was straight away. So after paying the full amount (£200) this morning. I called at 2pm to find out if I will be re connected today. The girl who answered the phone put me on hold for another dep and came back to me "to turn my phone off for 30mins and then it will be working " its now six o clock and no its not working.

Also as of 17.51 still no reply to my E-mail

Voda are terrible, they are still trying to charge me £100 that i paid them months ago, i get this every time i call their customer services "your bill is £130.00 sir......" and i have to explain it was paid immediately by direct debit, months ago, then they say "Erm.....umm.... " and i have to argue for 15 minutes to get my real bill of £30, and around 10 times they told me they would sort this out, but they did not.

Waste of time and test of my patience.

And that is truly dumb, cutting you off so you can't even talk to them to sort it out - i am not going back to their store again just to be told the same old story again and again.
    Owed out = lots.
