I want to reconnect to gas supply. Advice pls!
Options
I am replacing existing electric storage heating system with gas central heating (for obvious reasons). I am not currently a gas customer, but the property does have a gas supply into it. I remember when I moved in there nearly 18 years ago there was a gas meter, but I had it taken out because at that time I had no gas appliances. That was in the days of standing charges.
Now with new gas central heating going in, I want to reconnect to the gas supply. How do I go about it? Who do I contact to get a meter installed again? Do I have a choice of gas supplier?
Any advice would be helpful.

as far as I know you choose your supplier. all the suppliers in the area use a generic meter person usually. mine is transo. the new supplier should be able to sort the installation of your meter out. shop around and try and make sure they don't charge you0

Choose a supplier, ring up and ask them to fit a meter. They will check with what used to be Transco that the supply is still live, provided it is they will usually fit the meter free of charge.0
