    Hi Gingham
Have you tried/thought about Slimming World? They have Red and Green days and involve lots and lots of food that does not have to be weighed (free food).

Also, green days would be really cheap as they are based on pasta/rice/potatoes and any veg you fancy. I lost nearly 4 stone with this plan, and hope to get back on track when bump arrives this month. Been a bit slack and eating rubbish, but am hoping to find will power again.

Does anyone use a decent online calorie counter? I've been looking and they mostly either have random amounts eg calories per banana (like they're all the same size) or have too much other information to trawl through or they have lots of info for processed stuff.

I think it's a bit harder to calorie count when you cook from scratch as everything has to be weighed out and I'm a chuck it all in kind of cook AND I never cook exactly the same thing with exactly the same ingredients twice so I'd have to weigh it and work it out every time.

Surely there's an easier way (when the having smaller portions thing isn't working as well as I'd like!)

Not so much a calorie counter on its own, but a whole weight loss resource site, it is free, check it out , it has so much on there , too much to explain, but i absolutely love it. it has support forums, calorie counting, you can add your own recipes and have those calorie counted, blogs, mini work out videos, exercise programmes, really good.

Thanks for the link. I can't get it to work at the moment. I'll try again later.

I've thought about slimming world/weightwatchers, but the cost might be prohibitive at the moment. What are red and green days? I'm a vegetarian. And breastfeeding. But I have over 3 stone to lose as I gained an enormous amount of weight when I was pregnant.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

    Hi Gingham
As pink-winged suggested, definitely check out the lose weight thread.
I found this really handy when i first started, as i couldn't afford to go to a class, but had a book from when i had previsouly attended, so found the support on that thread was really good.

There are also lots of slimming world recipes on here, which people have posted. Being a veggie, green days would be perfect for you, and it is safe to follow when breast-feeding. You just need to have more healthy A (calcium) choices like milk/cheese/yoghurt, etc.

Also check out the slimming world home page. You can get an idea of what the plan is about, etc.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on. I hope to get back on track soon, just too stessed to focus at the moment (bump is due this friday, and i'm terrified) :rotfl:
