First Garden
Hi
I have never had a garden before and haven't really got a clue so you will probably find me on here quite a lot!
When I moved in it was an overgrown mass of weeds and bricks and concrete slabs and with some very generous cheap labour I now have a beautifully turfed garden - almost triangular shaped garden with a North Easterly facing wall,
I would like something to cover the wall which won't get out of hand and am thinking clematis?
Do I need to invest in plants or can I buy seeds to start indoors and plant out in the spring?
Or does anyone have any other ideas of a cheap and pretty option - I have spent all spare cash on turfing it which I am so pleased with as a novice gardener I wanted something which doesn't require a lot of skill or knowledge as even I can mow a lawn
Any suggestions would be really welcome - thanks

Clematis would be hard to grow from seed don't you know anyone with a mature garden you could ask for some mature plants. Most plants can be divided and some actually need it. Have a look on your local Freecycle/Freegle.
Spring bulbs would be something easy to put in now and you can get quite cheap ones looks in Poundland, Aldi ,Lidl.
Anyway congratulation on getting this far don't rush things take your time and you will get a clearer idea of what you want. My first garden was to start with mainly filled with off cuts or cheap plants from newspaper offers.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks TallGirl

Yes, I have advertised on freecycle and been offered some
Mombretia, a fern and flag irises. I am picking them up this weekend, it was the wall which I would like to cover with a climber at little or no cost that I'm not sure what to do with.0 -
You might need a trellis if you want a climber so think about the cost of that too unless it is self supporting. Have a look at your local garden centre They might have some climbers that have finished flowering this year so are being sold of cheaply.Save £12k in 25 No 49
