Advice needed

Hello,

My partner and i have decided to split up.He plans on moving back to Australia(he's originally from there) and i am hoping to be able to keep the house going but i am after some advice on what benefits i am able to claim if anyone can help.

I work 20 hours a week as a catering assistant, have two children(8 and 15) and live in a shared ownership property. No maitanance agreeement has been set up and he plans on sending me money over as and when he can afford it.

Have been together for a long time and i am really unsure as to what to do first or where to go to get the advice i need so any help would be great.

You may be able to claim Working Tax Credit as well as Child Tax credit if you don't get it already and if your income will be much lower than it is now the payments of CTC may increase if applicable. If it's shared ownership - I'm assuming you mean part rent/ part mortgage- you may be able to get Housing Benefit towards the rental charge and less likely but possible Council Tax Benefit. Also if you will be the only adult in the property your council tax charge should reduce by 25%.
