I watch quite a lot of property programmes at the moment, but I seem to be watching Homes Under The Hammer more frequently. Although, I get really tired with the over enthusiastic way Lucy talks about derelict properties and the cheesy music etc but I still can't believe how much profit some people make for just 3 months work!8k in 2015 Challenge ( #167)0

What's worse than a property program on prime time telly?
A property program which is 4 years out of date!!
Seriously, why do they think I want to know how much a renovated barn went for in 2009/10 ? They don't rerun Watchdog episodes showing us how much gas was in 1991.0 -

i quite like it as well - but the way that they seem to calculate "profit" is by getting an estate agent to come around and say that it is worth "X" and then deducting the original cost, plus whatever the person says they spent on doing it up, "forgetting" to factor in finance costs and just ignoring any selling costs.
there are obviously some people on there who make loads of money but i suspect they're established professional landlords who are buying properties to rent out. i prefer seeing some idiot who hasn't got a clue over-committing themselves and spending four times their budget, then getting angry with the estate agent's valuation when it turns out that they might just about break even if they are lucky. but hey, that's just me.0 -

I loved the "Come Dine with Me" episode with Hamish, devon and foxy.
Day 1, all of them in kilts, Hamish served haggis and the finest scotch whisky.
Day 2 was a bit of a downer when devon only served sour grapes and tap water
Day 3 it all went t*ts up when foxy blew a fuse because nobody liked his stew, started threatening Hamish and had to be carried off in a straitjacket.
A classic.0 -

I preferred the episode where no one turned up at all, because they were all someone else's sock puppet.
