Cleaning a musty dog coat.

Having a bit of a sort out and I've found an almost new good quality dog coat - hardly worn as mutt threw a strop every time I put it on her.
Thinking of ebaying it, but although it's clean it's got a definitely musty pong to it and it says not to wash just wipe down with a damp cloth. I've had it outside airing which has made not the slightest bit of difference - any suggestions as to how I can get it fresh enough to sell on?
Thanks

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

  • I'd be tempted to give it a good wipe down with vinegar then hang it on the line for a day or so.

Alternatively put it in a carrier bag and put in the freezer.
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Bicarbonate of soda, chuck a load on it, put it in a carrier bag and chuck a load more in there, leave it for a day or two. I did this with cigarette smell on some bike leathers, then hung out in the sun for a day, almost completly odour-free after that.

Keep it elsien, perhaps the next Mutt in the elsien household will wear it.
I'm sure there will be another Mutt before long.

Not looking likely any time soon, sad to say. Life's thrown a few curveballs lately which make mutt the sequel appear a bit unlikely at the moment. I'm hanging on to bed, bowls and leads as I can't face getting shot, everything else is down the blue cross or on ebay.
However if things change I'll be straight on here with the "find me a pooch" post. :)

Aww, hope you are able to haveanother one soon. It will never replace Mutt - ha ha and there are some aspects of Mutt you wouldn't want duplicates of - but its a shame that another dog can't have the love you gave Mutt yet.
We all know she tried your patience at times, as they all do, but we know you loved her to bits really.
