Best MPV for around 2k?
Options
Need an MPV now. Have around 2k.
Any thoughts or advice? Can't decide, petrol or soot blower? Jap or european?
Only need it for light usage, 20 miles a day. Needs to be reliable, far from work and start very early, before buses are running.
Thanks in advance!

Do you need a small MPV to occasionally take 7 passengers, or will you need a larger one which will take 7 regularly and their luggage.
In general French cars score near the bottom in satisfaction and reliability surveys, Japanese the best.0 -
a five seater would be fine0

Why an MPV then? What do you need in an MPV?
Buy a Focus Estate or Mondeo Estate.
2007 last of the MK3 shape Mondeo Estate's for that money.

New baby. An estate would be do-able but an mpv is more practical for getting car seat and shopping in I suppose.0

5 seater, mpv, 2k budget?
I'd go for a Nissan Almera Tino. Just make sure it's had regular oil changes. For 2k you should be able to get one from the last couple of years they made them, and with a decent trim level.0 -
I have been looking at the tino. A bit thirsty and lacking style but a lot of car for the money and reliable.
How do other mpv's stack up against the tino?
I'm pretty sure I don't want one with a french lump in it. German cars are great but overrated and thus more expensive than they should be.
I suppose my choices are limited anyhow.0 -
Focus C-Max plenty big enough then?
If you could see what will fit in my mondeo estate you dont need an MPV.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
We plunged for a TOYOTA COROLLA VERSO 2.0ltr Diesel. Our first diesel! Nearly 8 years old now and gives 62mpg on a run. Cheap insurance, Japanese reliability. Very versatile, the main five seat ALL move independently and the extra 2 in the boot disappear into the floor in seconds. No lifting out seats to change seat plan like you do in some cars. Plus no expensive electric handbrake to go wrong. In the 5 years of ownership only had 4 new tyres, new brakes all round and a new set of glowplugs. Wife was unsure when I suggested buying an MPV but she now prefers driving it to her Corsa !!0
