Faulty Shoes

Hi

Was wondering if anyone could help

I bought a pair of shoes from a Mango store back in Feb 11 paid for by credit card.

I have worn them 5-6 since. I noticed (eventually!) every time I wore them I was left with what I can only describe as a squelching feeling on the arch of my left foot, this would last for months and was quite painful. I eventually checked the shoes and found the arch on the outer sole of the shoe itself was indented and did not match the other shoe. This suggested to me it was a fault with the shoe.(Yes I learnt from mistake and haven't worn them since)

I contacted mango online twice using the online form stating my problem back in june 12 and again in july 12.No reply, I phoned them and was told they had a backlog and it would be quicker to visit the store. I visited the store and was directed back to customer services. I phoned cmr services yesterday but their system was down?!

The girl at the store said she would raise it with her contact at HQ. I have now been told by her - They can't do anything because:-

- I bought item over 12 months ago - they only offer a guarantee for 12 months
- They have not had any reports of a fault with that item
- I didn't report it to them earlier.

I have pointed out they were not bought as faulty and I would expect them to be fit for purpose and having only worn a few times the fault was unlikely to have occurred through wear and tear through every day use.

The shoes cost me £45.00, it's not really the cost more the fact they are unwilling to even considering looking at the fault I have highlighted.

I have read about their poor customer service on a few other posts and wondered if there was any point in pursuing this with them and where I should go from here??
