The promotional period begins 3 September 2012 at 00:00:00am Central European Time ("CET") and ends 16 November 2012 at 23:59:59pm CET.

Prizes: There is one grand prize and 20 runners-up prizes to be won. Grand prize: A five-night stay for two persons at the W Paris — Opera, France, in a double-occupancy room, including round-trip, economy airfare from the major airport closest to the winner's residence (should airfare not be required, substitute compensation will not be provided); and a full breakfast for each person on each morning of the stay (room service is not included). Runners-up prizes: A two-night stay for two persons, double occupance, at one of the Starwood hotels below, and a full breakfast for each person on each morning of the stay (room service is not included). Flights and transport to the hotel are not included and are the responsibility of the individual runners-up winners. Each runners-up prize will be allocated to one of the following hotels at random:

I registered on the website, as a 'Starwood Preferred Guest' so I was, in theory, able to enter the competition but when I entered using the membership number they just gave me it said I wasn't eligible to enter this promotion. Has anyone got this to actually work?

Somehow I think I joined the wrong thing. I ended up joining the 'Starwood Preferred Gues' scheme, they emailed me a membership number, and that was what wouldn't work. I should have joined the 'Starwood Preferred Planner ', scheme. I've done this now and it all worked ok.
