swift cover just charged me £20 admin fee for a policy 18 months ago

January 2011 i bought a Volvo 940 swift cover were quick and cheap so went with them

after 2 weeks i got a letter asking for proof of no claims, unfortunatly i hadnt had a policy in my own name for over a year so had effectivly lost my no claims suddenly they wanted an extra £540 so i cancelled which cost me £40

and have been with admiral since then on that volvo then another volvo and now a fiesta

nearly 18 months after i cancelled the policy i suddenly get a letter through the door demanding £20 and ive got 7 days to pay it, phone them up and they wont tell me what its about so i demand the manager.... who was un available and would call back

anyway today i ring again as its the 7th day and dont want extra charges and the chap tells me its an outstanding admin fee

so ive payed to shut them up but im not happy about surely they cant do that 18 months after the policy was cancelled they should of asked for it at the time?

bit annoyed its like ringing someone up you sold a car to last year and suddenly wanting an extra £50 :( and AVOID swift cover they are crooks!!!
