Hi,
I am trying to arrange travel insurance for my mum to the USA for a 3 or 4 week trip. She is 76, she has mild angina and is on meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol. The medical part of the insurance is our main concern. I've read the MSE guide and got some quotes, i was wondering if anyone had any experience with these companies or any suggestions for anyone else to try who might beat these quote.
Age concern £580 for multi trip.
MIA online £509 for single trip (need GP letter which should be fine)
Or Global Travel Insurance only £153 but with large (ie £2k) excess
Have had several higher quotes (saga, castle cover etc) and a couple refuse to offer her medical insurance(coloumbus direct).
Thanks for your help.

Hello have you tried Age Concern they are pretty good with mediacal conditions0

Update - we have managed to completely mess this up!
We decided to go with MIA online, who offered cover for 31 days. I went ahead and booked flights via expedia for 31 days. But, when my mum phoned to confirm the insurance and make the payment (she has spoken to them several times during the week), they now won't provide cover as wit the time difference etc, she won't arrive back in the UK until the 32nd day. I can't believe I didn't think of this when booking.
Anyway, I have emailed expedia asking them if we can change the flight.
No reply yet but I doubt it.
I've tried Age concern but because it is 32 days not 31 it will cost £790 instead of £580. I will try some other companies but if any one has any advice I would appreciate it. Thanks,0 -
Try flexicover or All Clear used both in the past not had to claim with All Clear but Flexicover were great when my daughter was born early whilst we were still in the US!!

thanks, I've had a look around.
Expedia said they would change the booking for £120 plus the difference in flights. They could give me a similar priced flight, just £20 more, but knocking 6 days from trip.
Then started looking around at other coverage, AllClear will cover for 32days for £483, but wary as some online reviews are showing people having problems when claiming from them. Will try flexicover. thanks0
