how to get out of Talktalk contract

Talktalk are very unreliable and when something goes wrong you have to spend ages in queues waiting to speak to someone in india who has no idea whats going on.

They have recently left me badly out of pocket due to nearly 3 weeks without broadband or telephone. Can I use SOGA in some way to cancel the contract (which they have breached) and also get them to pay my mobile phone bill and other associated costs?

Canecelling the contract is the thing I want the most :T

Surely this would have been better as a post on your thread of yesterday.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • No matter which provider you go with for a copper wire land-line, any fault will still have to be fixed by BT OpenReach. Even if you are a customer with BT there can be problems in the communication between BT and BT OpenReach.

If you are an exchange where TalkTalk has their own equipment you will probably find that equipment is more reliable than BT's. If it is a line fault then you are at the mercy of BT OpenReach no matter who you pay line rental to.
