asda credit card with santander

have a asda credit card backed by santander,recieved a letter to say as from january 2013 this card will no longer be accepted .my problem is for the last 2 days my card has been declined in 3 chip & pin machines ,have rung santander & they have said there is no block on my card & i should be able to use it. but again today it has been declined anyone else having the same problem :mad:
