DLA - renewal - doctor home visit

Hi
My mum receives DLA, and has been for about two years.
She recently been sent a renewal pack which has been filled out and posted back a few weeks ago.
We did state in the form that her condition has got worse, which it certainly has done.

We had a call today from local office, and they are sending a doctor around next week to assess how she is doing.
Has anyone else had similar visit? What can we expect?
I am taking a day off work to support her with the visit.
Thank you

  • Its normal procedure - you have said she is getting worse, so a doctor is coming to assess the level of her current disability - obviously to see if things are they way you have said on the forms and also to possibly grant a higher level of allowance etc. nothing to worry about.
  • Thanks NeverEnough
