Paypal Account Limited - Shall i bother with it, or just not use paypal again?

Recently sold something on ebay to a new buyer, made payment via paypal but they got problems with payments to bank account, so canceled it refunded etc etc. Now got the item and then went to buy something else from same person but canceled it and paid in cash instead.
Now account has been limited and they want the following:
Confirm your credit card
Photo ID
Credit Card Statement
Proof of Address
Provide Invoices - Dont have any
Supplier Contact - Dont have one
Validate your Account Information
Provide proof of delivery - Item was collected
Provide more information about payments
Now I dont use paypal ebay that much and i am wondering weather to even waste my time with this lot!!
If i just dont bother with paypal again, will it just stay like it is?, or will anything happen?, there is a zero balance
What do people think?

For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.

I did when they limited my account, it was a good number of years ago however (about 8), basically you need to find out the reason why it is limited. Normally you have triggered something a limit in transfer or something. At the time I limited mine it was because I had withdrawn over 4K that month, they wanted me to upgrade to a business account.
I'd say phone them, find out the reason why it is limited and take it from there. Only you can determine if you want to jump through the hoops they require, when you call them you might find its actually much easier to get the restriction lifted that you suspect.0 -
Do what they ask, or you won't ever be able to use it or Ebay. Likewise you may find they close or limit accounts of those related to you/your household.0

I called them and i do have to provide all of that
I really can not be bothered and unable to provide some of it, family dont use paypal and its only the 2nd time ive used it in about 9 monthsFor everthing else there's mastercard.

I guess it flagged your account up as unusual activity because you cancelled two transactions in a row quite quickly, so it looks a bit odd, thats why they want proff that the account is bona fide. While it is a pain, you could provide that information. Otherwise, you may damage the paypal accounts of other people linked to your home address, now or in future if they try to set one up. Paypal are a law unto themselves, but verifying that accounts are not fake is actually supported very widely.0

Brave man.
PayPal seem to wait until you really really need the new account, ie you buy business stock or set up a website and need it for payments or donations- then close it permanently for abuse. It is against the rules to have two accounts, and even worse to use one PayPal account if the other is limited or suspended.
We've had threads in here where people had issues in their teens, walked away from PayPal and then years later started up a big online business only to have it all go wrong when PayPal catch up with them.
OP, I would suggest if you think you or your immediate family will ever need to use PayPal in the future (and it is becoming more and more mainstream ) you will need to get this sorted out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Not the most sensible thing to do. Sort out the problem otherwise this new account will be closed at some inconvenient future date and anyone at your address will never be able to use paypal again.JonnyDixon wrote: »i just started a new one.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

You got me wondering now.
I wanted to send a payment to someone without them knowing my real details.
I setup a new account, I used a nephew's address and put his name backwards so that i know it would be them if any mail arrived.
Will this cause me issues later? Safe as a buyer but maybe when i come to sell?
I dont have any photo ID.
Old style driving licence and no passport.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

If you used someone elses details it is them that will have issues. If the account needs verification and it cannot be done then it will be restricted and obviously that means that no one at the address or with the same IP can use paypal again.
You could close it now though and that will make it OK for the future.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
