Refund for a digitally purchased game?

Hello, firstly sorry as I didn't know where to post this but thought this forum could be semi-relevant.
I bought a digital copy of a video game yesterday, played it for 30mins and decided I didn't like it, is it possible to get a refund?
It's unlikely, but I think I remember hearing that digital purchases were covered by the distance selling act and I have 7 days(or something) to request a refund for any reason at all.
The game was also bought on my credit card, would they be able to help?
I know it's unlikely, but thought I would try to find out anyway, thank you for reading.

It depends on the license agreement and T&Cs you agreed to when you paid for the game. For example, games downloaded from the Google play store can be returned for refund for up to 15 minutes after you have installed them. I've done this several times with games I decided I didn't like, or were nothing like what was described.
An alternative for PCs is Steam, if you bought through this service then you need to review Section 4 of the Steam Subscriber Agreement.0 -
Highly unlikely you'll get a refund I'm afraid.0

Computer software is exempt from SOGA/DSR. There is nothing faulty with it, you've just had a change of heart - and that doesn't allow a rejection after-the-event. Sorry.0

Fair enough, thanks for the fast answer guys.0

Very relevant :T
Credit cards do not cover you for change of mind. So that option is out.
Your only hope would be if retailer would be prepared to refund.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
It also depends on the platform you purchased through.
Both Steam and Digital River both have a statement on their purchase page, right under where you click 'accept' to make the purchase final, that as digital content is delivered immediately to your machine that the purchase is final and nonrefundable. Whether this is legal is another matter.
I do seem to remember some stories recently about a EU directive coming into force / came into force regarding digital purchases. Google will probably be you friend on that.
Personally I don't think a the fact you don't like the game is a valid reason for a refund. With so many review sites out there and video reviews for pretty much every game out there on youtube there's plenty of chance to check out a game before buying.0
