Happy December

You've got yourself well budgeted this month! Good luck in sticking to it!! (that's usually the part where I go wrong
lol) Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
I try and make mine on the generous side otherwise I definitely don't stick to them! Happy December to you too :-D
Today's sandwich is tuna mayo with sundried tomatoes :-)0 -
:rotfl: True!!!
Oooooooooooooo I like the sound of your lunch!!
Me and OH 'stole' an idea for lunch at home from our favourite coffee shop!! Get one of those part baked baguettes from Tesco's or the likes. Once it's nearly cooked, spread on a thin layer of tomato puree, clarry it with finely sliced bacon (cooked obviously!!), grated cheese, red onion finely chopped, and a few sun dried tomatoes, and finish off by heating under the grill. Serve with side salad/coleslaw
My mouths watering now.....

Made a huge vat of potato massaman curry last night with the rest of my 15p potatoes and some curry paste that I'd had for a while. The most expensive thing was the coconut milk, I reckon the whole thing only cost me £3 to make and there are at least 4 meals in it.
No sandwich today (an antihistamine made me oversleep and I ran out of time to make it!) but I've got 3 pieces of fruit and a kit kat which will tide me over until I get home.
Managed to get one of my secret santa presents from Amazon with vouchers so it didn't cost me anything :-)
Tonight will be a NSD other than my usual coffee which I stubbornly haven't given up (I'm addicted, I neeeeed it). Going to try and make it to the gym this evening.0 -
PS. That recipe idea sounds amazing, I might try an adaptation with anchovies! Mmmm!0

Today's lunch:
2 slices burgen bread (20p?) with tuna mayo (40p) and sundried tomatoes (10p)
=70p
Big braeburn apple= 30p
Mini maltesers = 15p
total £1.15 for an incredibly filling and sort of healthy lunch
Dinner this evening will be more of the potato curry I made earlier in the week. The only disadvantage to big batches of that is that I don't think I can freeze it because of the coconut milk, so my diet gets a bit repetitive. It's yummy though, so I don't mind. Cost = 75p ish.
Breakfast was one slice of burgen bread with butter and marmalade. 20p-ish.
So my total spend on food today will be a princely £2.10
This is definitely an area where I can make big savings without feeling deprived. Brings my £1.40 spend on coffee a day into perspective...but...but...if I have to have a vice, spending a tenner-ish a week on coffee is one of the less harmful ones.

You sound like you're trying to justify your coffees!!!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
That's because I am!

I'm saying nothing!!!!

I obviously feel guilty about it or I wouldn't be trying to justify it!

I've been thinking about buying a coffee machine (it would have to be one that uses capsules like Nespresso as I don't have time to clean up loads of coffee grounds in the morning). The problem is that I normally have an instant coffee with my breakfast at home, and then get another when I arrive at work, which I sip throughout the morning. I'm pretty set in this routine and feel half dead without it! If I got an insulated cup and made myself a nice coffee to take to work, that might be an option, but I doubt it would work out substantially cheaper because the capsules are not particularly cheap. I've got a cafetiere at work but filter/cafetiere coffee gives me headaches.
Anyway - exactly the same lunch today as I needed to use up the rest of the tuna mayo. :A
I've got a cold. Urgh.
Got a cheap but fun weekend planned - a clothes swap and a friend's Xmas party on the Saturday, then another Xmas gathering on Sunday. Am hoping I can get some good stuff at the clothes swap...particularly stuff that I might be able to wear to work. New job involves a lot of external meetings and you have to be a bit smarter for those.0
