DLA claim denied

I have been suffering with various health problems on going for over 3 years now which lately have been affecting my and my day to day activities.
I received the letter today saying my claim has been unsucsessful.
Is it best to appeal, or ask them to look at the claim again?
Many thanks.

from my own experience i would say its best to ask to to reconsider but send in more evidence such as medical info and also a day to day diary of how your care and mobility is affected.
I am awaiting a appeal at the moment (1year on!)....GOOD LUCK!!0 -
If you appeal, then they look at it again, anyway.
It goes to a different DM to look at the whole thing, as they don't like going to appeal if they're likely to fail.
The CAB will help you to decide what to do next.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.

My sister went for pca and the doctor at the centre asked her why she was not claiming dla and told her to claim that day as it was their doctors that deal with the claims in our area and she would have no trouble getting awarded the dla. Well she claimed and was turned down, we don`t know wether to appeal either.0

If your sister feels she is entitled to DLA, then she should appeal. A lot of people are turned down the first time they apply.0

you should both appeal as that includes someone else looking at the decision again anyway.it is so important to complete the application forms as your illness affects you on your WORST day,i cannot stress this enough.
yes the appeals process can be lengthy but if they find in your favour it is backdated.
whilst there are obviously guidelines and legislation decisions vary so much from decision maker to decision maker.appeals tribunals have a mix of medical and lay people on them.
