am i now with Primus?!

Hi

I signed up a few weeks ago to Primus from BT after moving house

I filled in all the direct debit info etc and the date of change has now passed however i have not even received an email from Primus - is this normal?

How can i check i am actually with them - is there a way online to check?

Me too - I contacted them and got this reply!
Your service is due to start with us on 02/04/2007 which should have been confirmed in writing by BT. We also sent the e-billing e-mail, welcome letter and DD confirmation letters by e-mail between 18/03 and 22/03 to this address. I have resent all of these e-mails again and they should be with you within 48hrs.

I'm still waiting but the service does appear to be working!

They seem to be in denial that there's a problem as others have also reported this on this forum!

Their email system doesn't appear to be working. Same thing happened to my mom, a friend and myself. I phoned Customer Services and they re-sent the emails, which still haven't arrived!

You can check if the service is active by using BT's Charge Advice service:

Lift handset and dial *411# and listen for message. Replace handset.

Make a chargable call (preferably evening or weekend). If the exchange calls you back with the approx cost of the call then CPS hasn't been applied, if there is no call back then the call has gone over Primus.

You can switch off Charge Advice with #411#

.....or call any number using the 1280 CPS override prefix. If it works you're with Primus. If it doesn't you're still with BT.

just a thought as I have found out to my expense,
if you use caller display which was free with bt via there home privacy thing,
you will now get charged for it with bt, at £1.75 amonth,
to prevent this make a couple of calls using the 1280 before you call the number, this will prevent any charge,
I rang my friend twice each time it just went onto her bt answer cos she wasn't in, but this month I wasn't charged for it like last month,
    much to my annoyance,

If you're given a date when Primus will become active but have had no confirmation, dial the Primus override before making calls - 1457.
Their email system is a bit slow but it does work. Their Customer Services though is brilliant and free - 0800 0363839. I had someone called Anthony, he did all the checks while I was on the line and he's very friendly too. :)
